Built for UK water hygiene

Not a general job platform with a water page bolted on.

Water hygiene and Legionella compliance software. Every job audit-ready, plant room to invoice.

BlueWave is Legionella compliance software for UK water hygiene contractors. It schedules the PPM round, captures the visit in a plant room with no signal, tracks each sample from the lab back to the logbook, files the record against the customer, site and asset, and invoices the contract as the work completes.

Thirty minutes, no slide deck. We walk a real engineer's shift, morning schedule to signed-off certificate. Or start on your own.

Built for UK water hygiene. Here is what that actually buys you.

Water hygiene isn't a trade a general job platform picks up with a custom form. The regime is the product: monitoring frequencies that differ per asset, samples that go to a lab and come back days later, and a record an assessor can ask for five years on. We built the awkward parts first, which is why the list below is seven links rather than one adjective.

The L8 forms are already in the box

Monitoring and job-sheet templates shaped around ACoP L8 and HSG274 tasks — monthly temperature runs, cold water storage tank inspections, TMV servicing, showerhead cleans — ready to issue on day one. You edit ours; you don't build a tank inspection sheet from a blank form designer. BlueWave is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Legionella Control Association (LCA).

Samples get a queue, not an inbox

Every set that's out shows what was collected, which lab has it, and how long it's been sitting. Seven jobs awaiting results, oldest nine days — that's a screen, not a spreadsheet someone remembers to update.

Follow a sample to the logbook

A positive becomes a dispatched engineer without leaving the screen

Flagged the moment the result is recorded, the reactive job raised and sent, the trail starting at dispatch rather than at the phone call nobody logged.

Plant rooms have no signal, so the app never asks for one

Forms, photos, signatures and sampling captured with zero bars, required photos enforced before the form will submit, and the site's own history already on the device before the engineer arrives. Not “offline until you open a form”.

The history belongs to the asset, not the engineer

CWST-02 keeps its own record, every reading, clean and photo since it was registered, when a person leaves or a contract changes hands. Spa programmes under HSG282 and BS 8580-1 risk assessments sit in the same register, their review dates surfacing in the schedule.

Five-year retention is a default, not a policy document

Every change logged with who, what and when, and records filed customer → site → asset → job, so there is nothing to name and nothing to misfile. The Legionella Control Association (LCA) expects service providers to keep records for five years; BlueWave keeps them without anyone setting a reminder not to delete things.

Monthly, quarterly and annual on one contract, invoiced as the work completes

Variable service frequencies on a single agreement, so finished work stops sitting uninvoiced in someone's tray. Each issued invoice exports as a Factur-X e-invoice at the EN 16931 profile.

Your engineers cost less than your office. Office seats from £49, engineer seats from £29 per user per month. £0 setup, and nothing charged per asset — your asset register is your compliance record, so we're not going to meter it. See the full pricing

The long version: a monitoring visit is not one job · what double data entry actually costs · why engineers abandon field apps · what offline has to mean in a basement

The stack you run now vs the one you could

A schedule in one place, the form in another, the record in a folder named "FINAL v3", the certificate retyped in Word, the invoice raised weeks late in Sage. Every handover is a re-key; every re-key is a risk that surfaces in an audit.

The job goes on the calendar once. The engineer's app captures the work against the right site and asset. The record files itself, the certificate generates, the invoice raises. Nobody retypes any of it, and month end becomes a quick review instead of a reconstruction exercise.

One platform, field to invoice

Four jobs your current stack does badly, done properly in one place.

Scheduling that knows the work

Drag-drop calendar, jobs grouped by site and due date so one trip covers them, and reactive dispatch for the day a positive result lands.

How it works

From the Monday round to Friday's invoice, nothing falls out of the system in between.

  1. Schedule it

The office plans PPM rounds and drops reactive work into the right engineer's day. The scheduler weighs skills, certs and location before suggesting anyone.

  2. Capture it on site

The app walks the engineer through the inspection: readings, samples, photos, signatures. There's no signal in a basement, so the app never asks for one. Everything syncs when coverage returns.

  3. Approve, certify, bill

The office reviews the submission, the certificate goes to the client, the invoice raises, and every step leaves a trail an auditor can follow.

Built with UK water-treatment pros. Early access is open.

We designed BlueWave to take up to ~10 hours of admin a week off a contractor's office: the re-keying, the chasing, the where's-that-certificate. Plans are per-seat and monthly, with no long contract. Sign up and your first invoice simply arrives with 10 days to pay.

The questions everyone asks

What is BlueWave?

BlueWave is Legionella compliance software for UK water hygiene contractors. It schedules the PPM round, captures the visit in a plant room with no signal, tracks each sample from the lab back to the logbook, files the record against the customer, site and asset, and invoices the contract as the work completes. It is built for the firm delivering the water hygiene service, not for the duty holder buying it. BlueWave is a trading name of Compliance Digital Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17305889.

Can BlueWave replace a general field-service platform, or a forms app plus a spreadsheet?

Yes, and that is what it is for. A horizontal field-service platform gives you a mature job engine and leaves the monitoring regime, the sampling schema and the five-year record for you to build in a form designer. A forms tool digitises the job sheet and leaves the schedule, the asset history and the invoice exactly where they were. BlueWave ships the water hygiene logic instead of a builder: ACoP L8 and HSG274 templates on day one, a sample queue that ages, positives that raise a reactive job, and five-year retention on by default.

Does the engineer app really work offline?

The engineer app captures a whole job with no signal at all — forms, photos, signatures and sampling — and syncs when coverage returns. The day's jobs and the site's past records are already on the device before the engineer arrives, so it isn't "offline until you open a form". Plant rooms and basements are where this work happens; an app that needs 4G there is decoration.

We're on GoFormz and spreadsheets. Can we move our forms and history?

Your forms get rebuilt in BlueWave's form builder and your historical records import alongside them. Rebuilt is usually better than migrated, because fields then validate against your sampling schemas instead of accepting whatever was typed. There is no integration with the old stack, deliberately: the point is leaving it.

Do we need an IT team to run this?

No IT team is needed. The office works in a browser and engineers use the app, with nothing for you to host, patch or back up.

What does it cost?

Office seats start at £49 per user per month and engineer seats at £29, priced separately because they don't use the same platform. Setup is £0 and nothing is charged per asset. The pricing page carries every tier in full.

Is BlueWave affiliated with the Legionella Control Association (LCA)?

No. BlueWave is not affiliated with, approved by, accredited by or endorsed by the Legionella Control Association (LCA), the Health and Safety Executive or any other body. References to ACoP L8, HSG274, HSG282, HTM 04-01 and BS 8580-1 describe the standards BlueWave's records and task schedules are shaped around, and the five-year retention default matches what the LCA expects of service providers' records.
